Code of conduct
At Because Talent Matters, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. This code of conduct applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at our events. We expect everyone to contribute to a safe and supportive environment throughout the event. Violations of this code of conduct may result in sanctions or expulsion from the event at the discretion of the organizers.
The Quick Version
Our event is dedicated to ensuring a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Harassment, including but not limited to offensive verbal comments, sexual language or imagery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome sexual attention, will not be tolerated. Violators may be asked to leave the event without a refund.
The Full Version
Harassment includes:
- Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices.
- Sexual imagery or inappropriate content in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or harassing photography or recording.
- Disruption of talks, workshops, or other events.
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors and exhibitors are also subject to this anti-harassment policy. Specifically, sponsors should avoid using sexualized images or materials, and staff should not wear sexualized clothing or create a sexualized environment.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take appropriate action, including issuing a warning or expelling the person from the event without a refund.
If you are being harassed, witness harassment, or have any concerns, please contact a conference staff member immediately. Conference staff can be identified by their branded attire and badges.
We value your participation and are here to ensure your experience is safe and enjoyable. Conference staff are happy to assist with contacting security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or take any necessary steps to support attendees facing harassment.
